Week of November 8th - 12th

Hola Parents,
First of all we would like to thank you for your constant support through
this painful moment our family is going through. We really appreciate all
your thoughts and prayers.

Update for Monitos Class:

The theme for this month is "This is me", we will be working on
recognizing parts of our body, with activities that will help us learn in
Spanish the words that represent them.
This week we will be rehearsing for our thanksgiving show, and it will be
very helpful if you ask your child to sing for you. The song we will be
singing is "Yo soy el pavo" (I am a turkey).
For this show I will need your child wearing yellow and brown colors, for
the rest of the outfit I will need $ 1.00 to buy the wings that I will
decorate as feathers. Please let me know if you would like to help me with
this project.

Wednesday November 17th is Picture Day!!! Our class will be taking their
pictures starting at 10:00 a.m.
We will begin around 9:00 a.m with children that do not attend this day.
Children come in wearing their clothes for the picture (which can be
anything you want- does not have to be uniform). Please do bring a change
of clothes to change them after the picture is taken.

Thank you!!

Week of November 1st. - November 5th.

Happy week to you all! I hope you had a great weekend after the great party we had on Friday. Gracias to Ms. Leonor and Ms. Marilyn for helping out in the class.
Our children have been introduced to the use of the scissors. They are safe and appropriate for their age. We are working some skills that will improve their fine motor skills and creativity as following lines up and down with the marker and the scissors.
 “This is me” is the subject for November and we are going to work with a lot of adjectives like :
Alto = tall
Bajo = short
Educado = polite
And a lot of nouns:
Los ojos = the eyes
La nariz – the nose
Las orejas = the ears
La boca = the mouth
La cabeza = the head
Las piernas = the legs
Los brazos = the rams
Los hombros = the shoulders
Las manos= the hands
Los pies = the feet
Los dedos = the fingers and the toes
Also ,we are preparing for our Thanksgiving presentation. We can’t wait  for it.

Thank you
Ms Gloria & Ms Mercedes

Dear Parents

This is the last week of October, it is amazing how time is passing so fast and our monitos are learning so many new things!
This last week we will have a review of the community servers, thank you to all the parents who were able to come and talk to our children.
This Friday is Costume Party! The children are welcome to wear a costume (not scary and no weapons please), we will have a parade and fun games. You can contact  our room parent Mrs. Marilyn at diaz@niehs.nih.gov  if you have an idea for this special occasion for our kids (Mrs. Maria Vasquez will no longer be able to help us, so please take her address out of your list) Unfortunately, because of the limited space, only children that attend school on Fridays can come. Parents are welcome to accompany us and take pictures anytime from 10am to 12noon.
Also, I would like to remind you regarding your child’s change of clothes. Please make sure your child has always one set of clothes available and appropriate for this cooler weather.
Again thank you for your attention and cooperation
Ms. Gloria & Ms Mercedes
