Week of March 26-30th!

Dear Monitos Parents

Our theme of the Month is  “THE ANIMAL KINGDOM”, and this week we will focus on farm animals and pets.

The words of the week in addition to those that we are already using are:

Animales de la Granja - Farm Animals

La vaca - The cow

La oveja -  the sheep

El gallo - The rooster

La gallina - the chicken

El cerdo - the pig

El caballo - the horse

El cordero - the lamb.

Las Mascotas - Pets: 

El perro - the dog

El gato- the cat

El conejillo de indias - hamster

El pez dorado - goldfish

Las aves - the birds

Los pollitos - little chicks

El loro - the  parrot.

Special events this week:

Pet Day is on Tuesday. We will have the opportunity to enjoy Secret (Braydon’s pet), Jupiter (Teague’s pet) and Valentina Pineda’s pet who will be visiting our school after 4:30pm. We are looking forward to have you.

Pajama Day is this Friday March 30th, don’t forget to bring your child on pajamas.

As part of our language activities, we continue sharing the favorite toy or book at Circle Time every Friday.

For this last quarter we would like to ask your support with some learning activities at home like:

This week we will reinforce Math. Learning math is very natural. Together, we can be sure it’s fun as well. 

You can support your child’s math at home all the time! When you’re folding laundry and ask your child to help you match the socks –that is math-. Or  while baking a cake, you may ask your child to find the big square pan in the cupboard, recognizing shapes and sizes are important math skills, too.

CONGRATULATIONS to Marco Valdez and his Parents who did their homework in a great way. They brought a little cage with some bugs last Friday and our little Monkeys had the opportunity to see them at Circle Time. Marcos took care of his little bugs all day and we add one more that we found at the park. GOOD JOB Marco!!!

Week of March 19-23th!!!

Dear Monitos Parents

Our theme of the Month is “THE ANIMAL KINGDOM” and this week we are learning about: Insects and bugs.

We will be practicing the same words of the last week and we will add some others like:  fast, slow, I want, I’m # years old, green.

Insects and bugs: Mosquito, Ladybug, Dragonfly, Butterfly, Bee.

Congratulations to our student of the week QADIR SAMPSON!!!!!

Also please bring your child’s Report Card back to the teachers.

Homework this week:

We will be grateful if you can help your child find an insect and bring it in a little plastic container to the classroom.

Sr. Patrick’s Day celebration was a successful event thanks to Teague’s Family, who came and shared with the children and teachers a special snack with green fruit, vegetables and cup cakes; they showed Teague’s family pictures and read books. We learned so many things about this holiday and the Irish traditions. We also learned that Teague means “Wise Poet”. Everybody was so happy and enjoyed this special time.

This week we are celebrating the “ART FAIR”, your children’s art work are displayed on the hallway outside the classroom, Please don’ miss this event, and let us know what do you think about it. Everybody worked so hard to present this Art Fair where children express their feelings and creativity.

Special thanks to my WONDERFUL TEAM: Ms. Karla and Ms. Patricia who help me with effort and imagination to finish the decoration of the “Art Fair”.

Week of March 12-16th!

Dear Monitos Parents
Our theme of the month is “THE ANIMAL KINGDOM” and this week we will focus on Animals of the Jungle.
We will keep practicing the same words of last week and we will add some others like
The jungle, fast, slow, I want, I’m # years old, green, clover/shamrock
Wild animals: lion, elephant, giraffe, monkey, tiger, crocodile.

Special events this week:
Congratulations to the student of the week TEAGUE FLORES!!!!!
Reminders:
Last week we sent home the Report Cards, some parents brought them back, but we still are missing some. We will appreciate if you bring them back this week.
This week we will be waiting for your beautiful “Clover” art to display on our wall.
This Friday we are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with our Little Monkeys and Teague’s Family. We are so excited! Don’t forget to wear GREEN.

Special Thanks to Isabella’s Mom and Grandma, who came to our classroom and made beautiful art crafts (a chick and a bunny) with our Little Monkeys. They really enjoy it.

Next week is Art Fair please come by to see your child’s creativity exposed on a mural.

Dear Monitos Parents
Our Theme this month is : “THE ANIMAL KINGDOM”
And we will focus on learning about the sea animals this week.
Words of the week:
Numbers: one to eight./ Numeros del 1 al 8
Words: soft-suave, hard-duro, over-sobre, behind-detras ,
habitat, the sea-el mar.
Sea animals: whale-la ballena, dolphin-el delfin, fish-el pez,
octopus-el pulpo, sea turtle- la tortuga de amr, jelly fish-la medusa,
shark- el tiburon.
Adjectives: big-grande, small-pequeño, strong-duro, soft-suave.

Special events this week:
Congratulations to the Student of the week:  ISABELLA CONKLIN!!!!
Reminders: Please, remember to bring toothpaste and a toothbrush
with a cap in a Ziploc bag for your child.

Homework this week
This week we will send home the Report Card for the Second Quarter.
Please read it, sign it and return it by Friday.
If you have some comments or concerns about your child’s evaluation
and would like to meet with me please sign up at the list on the door,
meetings could be held on Friday March 9^th from 8am to 4pm
This week we will give you the template of “ALL ART TOGETHER” for March.

Next week we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and we are celebrating it dressing up in green cloths on Friday March 16^th.
