Week of June 29th- July 3rd

Week of June 29th through July 3rd
Theme of the week: “Celebrating Independence Day”
 
Dear Monitos Parents,
We hope everyone had a great week. Our Monitos had lots of fun last week camping, picnicking, and having story time inside a tent.
This next week is a short but interesting week because we are celebrating our independence by doing art, playing games, and creating a flag with bread and to finish the week we will have our annual 4th of July Parade!
 
Special Activities:
Tuesday: Crazy Hair Day -  Be creative!
Thursday: For our Parade please send your child wearing blue and red to honor the color of our flag.
At home, you can discuss the colors and shapes in our flag!
 
Important
·         Sff! will be closed this July 3th in honor to our Independence
·         We are collecting shoe box. IF you plan to bring some, make sure to leave it with Ms. Cristina or Ms. Laura
 
 Reminders:
·         Please make sure to keep extra clothes for you child in the cubby.
·         We need your cooperation in the classroom washing hands every morning when you get in the classroom.
·         Please if you bring any tape of food please leave everything in the kitchen. We cannot have any type of food in the cubbies also we provide water to drink in the classroom and in the playground; you are welcome to bring your own water but please remember to bring your bottle with name and date and don’t forget the lid.

Week of June 22nd-26th

Monitos Class

Theme of the week: “We go camping”

Dear Monitos Parents,
During our first week, the Monitos greatly enjoyed each activity. This week is time to go the camping and we are planning to have a very fun week. We will become little explorers around the classroom and school.

Monday - Please bring canteens and binoculars. We will explore around the school.            
Wednesday - Picnic day: we will make lemonade and any fruit are welcome to our picnic.
Thursday - We will have our first Zumba Class.
Friday- Pajama day and bring your sleeping bag.

At home you can talk about what we need to go camping and show your child some of this equipment, if you have it. We are asking for one big tent to use this Friday in the lobby if you have one and is available let me know - we appreciate your help!

Monitos want to wish a HAPPY'S FATHER DAY and enjoy your day!

 Remember:

Week of June 15th-19th

Hola Parents!
We are excited to start our summer camp.  We’ll have many activities every day for our Monitos. It is time to be active, to do outside activities, to enjoy the weather, and have fun.
Activities of the week:
·         Thursday wear your favorite sunglasses.
·         Wednesday send newspaper to make hats with them, and plastic bottles to bowl.
·         Thursday wear Luau clothes to our parade.
·         Friday wear a blue T-shirt.
 
Happy Birthday- Feliz Cumpleaños
June 18th-We want to wish a great Birthday to Kayla Dwight!!!!
 
Important Invitation
Monitos want to invite our fathers to enjoy a fun afternoon to celebrate Father's day - this Friday 19th at 4:00 pm. Please dressed in the most comfortable clothes and make sure to wear blue T-shirt.

Recyclable Material this week
Part of our mission this summer camp is to work with recycle material. This week we will be collecting plastic
bottles and cake plastic lids for our activities. Please bring as much as you can.  Be on the look next week for
what we will be recycling!

Week of June 8th-12th

Theme of the week: “The Universe and I”
Week of June 8th - June 12th
 
Dear Monitos Parents,
This week we will continue talking about the universe, including: the sun, the star, the moon and our Earth planet. This is a very interesting topic for our children and all of our activities will be based on this wonderful theme.

Our goal this week is to continue creating curiosity about the sun, stars, and moon. We’ll also learn why it’s so important to protect our planet using simple tips such as not wasting water and watering plants to help them to grow.

At home you can talk with your child about this and let him or her water the plants.

June 10th: Parents/Teacher conferences (If you would like to have a conference about your child’s development this last trimester, please let me know. We will be doing afternoon conferences.
