Week of August 3rd - 7th !!!

Theme of the Week: “The Circus”
Week of August 3th – August 7th

Dear Monitos Parents,
Our summer camp is almost done and I'm so happy to see how the Monitos are growing up so fast, and doing a great job every day. It’s almost time for them to move up to the Sapitos Class; we will be talking more about this during these last weeks.
Congratulations on a wonderful job with the Potty training! This is required to move up to the Sapitos, so I am very proud we are close to accomplishing this important task!

This coming week we will have many activities where the Monitos can challenge both, their gross and fine motor skills. The circus is a great topic where the kids can have fun imitating animal sounds, and pretending to be acrobats.

Special Activities:
·        Tuesday: Puppet Day - they will create their own clown.
·        Wednesday: It’s face painting day! Please let us know if you child have any allergies to this paints.
·        Friday: Everyone needs to come to Sff! dressed as a clown!

Important
Our splash days are Monday in the morning and Thursday in the afternoon. On Monday you can help us by sending your child wearing the swimming suit and with his/her bathing suit!

This week, we are collecting empty sodas cans.

Happy Birthday!
We want to wish a happy birthday to Colton Martin and Genevieve Provost, both of them are turning three in July and Rowen Wang turns 3 in this August. Congratulations!

August 13th: Sff! Annual Trike-a-Thon.
August 14th: Last day of Summer Camp. Early release at 12.30 pm.

August 18th: First day of school year 2015-2016.

Important Announcement
Ms. Laura will be out for vacation next week, so one of our center floaters will be helping Ms. Cristina with the Monitos.

Week of July 27th-31st

Theme of the week: “Princess and Knights"
Week of July 27th - July 31st.

Dear Monitos Parents,
Our Monitos we will have a royal week. They will make crowns, shields, and castles. As part of our activities we will dress up as princesses and knight and have a royal tea party.

The Monitos princesses and knights are allowed to bring dresses, shields, and dragons to play in class all week.

Friday is our royal party, please wear a princess or knight costume if you have it.
At home you can books about the courage of princesses and knights.

Important
Our splash day are Monday in the morning and Thursday in the afternoon. On Monday you can help us by sending your child wearing their bathing suit.

Recycle material:
We are still collecting paper rolls to make our castle.

 Remember:
 *Please make sure to keep extra clothes for you child in the cubby.
 *We need your cooperation in the classroom washing hands every morning when you get in the classroom.

Week of July 20th-24th

Theme of the week: “The Dinosaurs”
Week of July 20th – July 24th

Dear Monitos parents,
This is one of our favorite themes for our Monitos. They love to learn the different names of the dinosaurs and imitate their sounds. For this reason, we are planning to have many fun activities with them, for example: creating a dinosaur’s world (habitat) with leaves, sticks, and rocks, making a volcano, and finding dinosaurs in ice.

At home you can read dinosaur books and find out your child’s favorite dinosaur.
During the whole week the Monitos can bring dinosaurs to play and share with their friends.

Important
Our splash day are Monday in the morning and Thursday in the afternoon. On Monday you can help us by sending your child wearing the swimming suit and with his/her bathing suit!

Recyclable Materials Needed This Week:
Part of our mission at summer camp is to work with recyclable materials. This week we will be collecting cones of paper towels and toothpaste boxes for our activities. Please bring as many as you can. Be on the lookout next week for what we will be recycling!

Our Monitos had so much fun during our first days of splash! They love the water!
This week our theme is The Zoo and the Monitos will be have the opportunity to mention zoo animal names, the zoo animal homes ,to imitated they sound, and to compare each animal in siz, .habitat and number of legs .At home you can help reinforcing this.

Week of July 6th-10th

Week of July 6th – 10th
Theme of the week: “The Aquatic World” / el mundo marino

 
Dear Monitos Parents,
I hope you had a great long weekend while celebrating our independence.
This upcoming week will be very busy and fun .Our theme is “The Aquatic World.” This week, we have many activities planned, including: creating a mural, the sea-themed yoga, cooking, and movie time.  We are so happy that splash day are finally here. The kids love this theme because they enjoy talking about sea-creatures and the sounds they make.

Special activities
·         Monday: Please bring any aquatic animal and splash equipment.
·         Wednesday:  Sea Themed Yoga
·         Thursday: splash and come and enjoy the Monitos ocean mural in the afternoon.
·         Friday: Sea Party - the Monitos are welcome to come dressed in costume (i.e. a shark, diver, or mermaid). We will also make a sea cracker and enjoy the movie, Finding Nemo!

At home, you can read books to your child concerning this theme and talk about the beautiful about this animal and also the importance of be careful with them.
