Theme of the Week: “My Senses " / “Mis Sentidos”

Dear Monitos Parents,

Happy Friday! The senses are important to understanding and recognizing the surrounding environment. With this topic, the children will learn about their senses and the organs that apply, and also use them experience and experiment in a playful manner. We will also introduce them to the care and protection needed  for each of the senses.

At home you can allow your child to touch, smell, and observe different objects around your house.

Student of the week:

The student of the week is Aric we can’t wait to know everything about you (favorite toy, book, food, places to go, etc.).

Reminders:

·         Please make sure to keep extra clothes for you child in their cubby.

·         We need your cooperation in the classroom washing hands every morning when you get in the classroom.

·         Remember take every Friday your child blanket to be washed.

Week of September 21st. - September 25th.

Theme of the Week: "How I Grow and Change" / “Como Crezco y Cambio”

Dear Parents,

This week we will be learning about nutrition and how to grow to be healthy and strong children. We will have fun with different activities, like; pretending to buy food at the supermarket, touch different textures of fruits and food, making our own pizza in the classroom,  and making a fruit salad.  We are also going eat some vegetables, do some art, and more of our favorite meals.

At home you can help them to identify pictures of healthy meals and take your child for grocery shopping with you.

Special Events and Birthdays: 

*Monday Sep. 21st: Penelope's Birthday

*Thursday Sep. 24^th afternoon:  Project "We will make a fruit salad". Please send with your child, his/her favorite fruit that day. Make sure to put it in a Ziploc bag with his /her name.

*Thursday Sept 24^th: Fall pictures. Also make sure to send your child’s Sff! Shirt that day.  Yearbook pictures will be taken that morning.

*Friday Sept 25^th: Fall Pictures taken at our lobby. Make sure to also send your child’s Sff! shirt that day and leave it in his/her cubby, as we will be changing outfits later. 
Children who do not attend Sff! on Thursdays, are welcome to come that morning to have their pictures taken. This pictures will be for our yearbook.

Student of the week:

Congratulation to Penelope Walsh! She is our student of the week! We can’t wait to know more about her and her family!  

We need your help!

On Friday September 25th we will have special activity where our children will pretend going shopping to the supermarket. We will decorate our lobby as a supermarket and we need your help! You can help us with this activity by sending: Cereal boxes, juices bottles, milk cartons, etc
Items can be drop at the front. THANKS!

Theme of the Week: "How I Grow and Change" / “Como Cresco y Cambio”

Dear Monitos parents,

Our goal for this week is to help our Monitos identify themselves as a boy or girl. We will also work towards achieving new stages of growth with activities in art, language, and fine motor skills.

At home you can show and help them to identify pictures of girls or boys.  They can also read a book or play game where they have to take turns.

We also need your help to make all of our activities a success, for this reason, on Monday, please send a picture of your Monito when they were babies (newborns) and on Friday send a baby doll.

Theme of the week: “My Body"

Week of Sep. 7th - Sep. 11th.

Hello Dear Monitos Families!

This week we will continue learning about "My body". We will be working different activities to know each part of our body. Always having fun and learning as much as we can. In this opportunity we will be drawing our own body, also we will identify each part of the body, we are going to draw our hands and foot and we are going to do relaxing exercises and practice colors.

Mom and dad could help at home by talking and practicing to your child about your Monito's body, like "Where are the head, arms, hands, legs, foot, etc"

 

Special Events and Birthdays: 

*Monday Sep. 7th: Labor day. School Closed.

*Thursday Sep. 10th: Dr. Visit to Spanish for fun! This is a pretend fun activity where children can bring their baby dolls or favorite stuffed animal and take them to the doctor. Thank you to our wonderful doctor parents for volunteering for this activity!

*Friday Sep. 11th:  Special activity "Grandparent's Celebration". Please join us at 9:00 am for a special celebration in our Monitos Class. Light snack and refreshment will be served in our lobby starting 8:15am.

*Thursday Sep. 22th: Fall Picture Day

 

Important Reminder:

We are kindly asking all parents to help  out teacher made our grandparent's celebration even more especial by bringing pictures with their grandparents by next Monday September 7th.

Please make sure you bring the following items with your child.

·         Extra clothes

·         Diapers 

·         Wipes

·         Blanket

·         Cream sunscreen, no spray (with authorization form)
