Theme of the week ( tema de la  semana) Mi Pais / My country

Dear Parents,

Our theme of this coming week is “My Country.” We introduce the importance of the most common symbols of our country to our Monitos, using items like: the flag, the forest, and the eagle. This is a very important theme because is a great opportunity to let them know about the county where we live. At the same time we will have an art activity, gross and fine motor skill development, and our daily story time where the Monitos can increase their Spanish vocabulary.

At home you can show them some of the symbols and talk about what city and country you are from and what city or country they were born.

Special activities

Thursday- We will make a delicious flag with strawberries and blueberries.

Friday- Please bring a ball (ex. Soccer ball)

Announcement:

This coming week Maury will be visiting Aaron Baldwin’s house. He is so happy to visit his house.

Congratulation to Isabella Peñalva who’s turning 3 years on February 27^th. Feliz Cumpleaños!

Upcoming dates:

• Report card will be send home this Monday 7^th.

·         March 14th: Teacher-Parents Conferences

• Easter celebration will be March 2^3rd more details coming soon.

·        March 25th: Good Friday, school will be closed

• March 31^st Latin Party! Please mark your calendar and please let us know if your Monito will be participating.

·         Please make sure to keep extra clothes and underwear in your child’s cubby.

·        We need your cooperation in the classroom washing hands every morning when you get in the classroom.

Week theme: “Science in my daily life”

 

Dear Monitos Parents,

We would like to thanks everyone for their tokens of love during last Friday on Valentine’s Day! Our Monitos had such a great time celebrating Friendship!

 

This week in our Monitos will continue working in our experiments and also we learn more about recycle. We will having fun with our scientific experiments and going to do our recycling boxes and some arts activities like with plastic pots and cans. Our Monitos are going to make their own project for recycling on Friday, so we will be in need of materials for recycling this week such as boxes, empty containers, etc.

We have our new CD SFF where we invite you to listen with your children and enjoy the new songs featuring the CD.

Week of February 15th. – February 19th.

Theme of the week ( tema de la semana)

Pequeños cientificos/ Young scientists

Dear Parents,

Our theme of this coming week is “Young Scientists.” This is going to be a very fun week full of new experiments and activities during which the Monitos can use their senses to explore and experience new things. During this week, we will have experiments every day where they observe, change of colors, textures, and scents.

At home you can do small experiments as let them touch water warm, ice or put together water with oil and observe what happen.

Next Monday we will send home construction paper. Your homework is to decorate that piece of paper with materials, such as: stickers, tissue paper, paint, or crayons. Use your creativity and bring it back on Wednesday. We will do an activity with this to encourage our Monitos to share.

Announcement:

We begin with our activity Maury our traveling pet. This activity consists to take Maury home for a week and take photos doing activities with him and bring him back the next week to share with our Monitos your child experience. The sign-up sheet is behind to our door.

This coming week Maury will be visiting EMMA POTTER house. He is so happy to begin this adventure.

Thank you to all of you for helping us with the Valentine’s Day celebration. The Monitos had a really good time.

Week of Febrary 8th - Febrary 12th

Theme of the Week: "How it works the electrical and technological artifacts"

Dear Monitos Family,

"Music conceived as a game and as a fun, stimulating the senses of the child, their motor skills and makes you develop your artistic sensitivity, among other undoubted benefits. That's why we encourage you to do these activities with our kids."

This week in our Monitos will become musicians. We will have fun art activities using different musical instruments. We are going to learn about many different instruments, including: drums, maracas, guitar, and tambourine. Also we are going to have a project for Valentine's Day. On Friday, we will be celebrating Valentine's Day during which our Monitos will share with his friends in the classroom.

 

Special Events and Birthday:

February 11th: Félix Birthday.

February 12th: Special Activity: "Be my Valentine".
