🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Monitos Parents,

This week the children will be learning about “the universe and I” through play. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen math, motor and cognitive-sensory skills.  Some of these activities are as follows:

●      Read the moon story.

●      Create an art craft project about the Earth, solar system, the moon and the sun.

●      Do outdoor activities when the sun is out.

●      Build with recycle material our solar system and the moon.

🔆 Friendly Reminders

●      Check your child’s cubby and make sure to bring extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather.

●      Bringing toys to classroom is not allowed. Make sure toys are left at home. This is to prepare children for the upcoming school year.

●      Donations for the Green World project are still welcomed.

📆 Holidays & Upcoming Events

●      Memorial Day on Monday, May 30th. School will be closed.

●      Report cards will be delivered on Friday, June 3.

●      Camping Project on Friday, June 3rd.

●      Parent-Teacher conferences- June 9^th. If you require a meeting to discuss about your child’s development and evaluation, please fill out your name, mark the day and time you would like to meet in the form that will be placed outside of the classroom.

●      Father’s Day celebration on June 17th at 11:30am

●      Last day of School on June 17th. Children will have early release at 12:30 p.m.

●      Summer Camp First Day on June 20th.

🔠 What are we learning?

Dear Monitos Parents,

We would like to thank you once again for all your support and for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life.

This week the children will be learning about insects through play. We have scheduled exciting learning activities that will allow us strengthen math, motor and cognitive-sensory skills.  Some of these activities are grouping insects by color and size, creating insect art crafts with playdough and paper rolls and jumping using both legs and stretching the body while walking under a web made of paper.

The Animal Kingdom/ My Pets & Farm Animals

Dear Parents,

As you know, we started teaching about the animal kingdom since last week. Monitos will be able to develop many abilities such as imitating sounds, counting and matching animals to strengthen their math skills and creating art pieces about animal habitat using their imagination. We have also scheduled fun projects with farm animals and pets. On Monday Monitos, Sapitos and Ositos classrooms will watch a video about how take care our pets. On Friday the parents that can bring their pets around 10:00 a.m. and help us with Pet Day parade, please put your name in the sign up sheet at the front desk.

We will also discuss with our Monitos about their pets. Please write down if your child owns a pet in their journal. Please provide the name of the pet and what the pet likes as well.

May 26^th- Marbles Museum Field Trip for Sapitos and Ositos only. Permission slips will be sent to you next week. Please make sure to return them.
