Theme of the week: “Viajo y me comunico por mi ciudad /I travel and I communicate with my city”
 
Happy New Year Monitos Parents!
 We hope you are enjoying these holidays around family and friends. Also we want to thank all of you for making our Holidays day even more special - it means a lot to us. We are so happy to start this new year and we are ready to continue with our school year. The theme of this week is “I Travel and I Communicate with My City ” with an emphasis on the basic means of transport like the car, the truck, the airplane, and the boat. We’ll address how they function and where we can use them.

Our goal is for our Monitos to recognize the importance of these methods and how they can can help us in our daily routine. At home, you can read a book about this theme and talk about your cars help in your daily routine.

Week of December 21st-23rd

Week of December 21st – December 25th
Theme of the week: “Holiday Projects”
 
Dear Monitos parents,
This is going to be a short and fun week. The holidays are here and in these three days we will make holiday's craft and talk about the important elements in this celebration, such as: the Christmas tree, Santa Claus, snowman, candy can and ginger bread. Also the 23th we will plan a Christmas story time with the Ositos and Sapitos class. At the same time we will talk about sharing, being nice with our peers, and giving hugs to our family because they are very important to us and this season partly about spending time and showing our love.

At home, talk to your child about where the family will go for the holiday, who will be there, what special traditions you will follow.
 
Congratulations to Ian Smith who turns three on the 23rd of December! Feliz cumpleanos!

Remember:

Theme of the week: “Mis Tradiciones Familiares /My Family Traditions”
 
Dear Monitos Families,
This week our Monitos will continue working on the traditions of the world. We will be having fun with different art activities like, paint, making our own Christmas card and more activities about Christmas. We’ll also enjoy our long-awaited Christmas party! We’ll have the traditional visit from Santa Claus to bring presents to our Monitos. We will have fun this week!

December 18th: Visit from Santa Claus

Reminders:

Please make sure to keep extra clothes for you child in their cubbies.
We need your cooperation in the classroom washing hands every morning when you get in the classroom.

Week of December 7th-11th

Week of December 7th – December 11th
Theme of the week: “Traditions around the world/ tradiciones alrededor del mundo”

Dear parents,
This week we will talk, during circle time, about some special traditions around the four continents, including: Europe, Africa, America and Asia. In art we will make snowmen using a water bottle, cotton, and a winter tree. With these two activities, they’ll also work on developing their fine motor skills. Also we are planning some activities where they can stretch and work on their gross motor skills. To finish a great week, Friday we will make Italian cheese pizza!

We will continue with the rehearsals for our performance and the Monitos have been doing a great job!

At home, you can talk about the traditions in here America like July 4th, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

Theme of the week: “Mis Tradiciones Familiares /My Family Traditions”
Hello Monitos Parents,
We hope you have had a great weekend! For this week our theme is “My Family traditions”. Family traditions teach our children the value of enjoying the sample pleasures of having fun together. Family traditions can be as simple as reading a book every night or eat pizza every Friday. Also, Family traditions provide a sense of belonging, security and togetherness. Children will remember traditions and/or costumes of spring, summer, fall, and winter by making some art works, playing with sand and water, and observing pictures.

Week of November 23th – November 25th
Theme of the week: Celebrating thanksgiving” /Celebracion de accion de gracias”

Dear Monitos Parents,
This is going to be a short but fun week. During this week we will talk about the importance of giving thanks. Also we are planning on some art projects related with this theme. At the same time, we will do circle time activities where the Monitos share stickers and give hugs to their peers.

At home you can help us by talking to your child about this day and how your family celebrates this holiday.

Week of November 16th – November 20th
Theme of the week: "Places and Vehicles of farm servers"

Dear Monitos Families,
This week our Monitos will continue learning about our theme: “My Community.” We will be having fun with different art activities like painting, making our own firetruck and ambulance. We will be making cookies as well. We have many different activities planned with our Monitos. 

At home you can help us by sharing images of fireman, police officers, doctor, teacher, and mechanic. 

Special Events:
November 20th: Project - We’ll pretend to be chefs and make cookies.

Student of the week:
Congratulations to Leslie Delgado, she is our student of the week! We’re very happy to learn more about Leslie and her family.

·         November 25th: Thanksgiving Celebration. We will be sharing a special morning snack in our classroom. Parents are encouraged to bring a dish to share during our morning snack at 9:00 am. Signup sheet will be posted on Monday, the 16th.
·         November 26th – 27th: School closed.

Week of November 9th-13th

Week of November 09th – November 13th
Theme of the week: “Mi comunidad y yo /My community and I”

Dear Monitos Families!
This week we will talk about our community. As always with activities where they can learn and have fuyn!:

·         Monday we will dress up like fireman or doctor
·         Tuesday we will pretend to be in a restaurant.
·         Wednesday we will be visiting the book fair as a librarian
·         Thursday we will enjoy a small show presentation from the teacher and please send a shoe box to and special activity that day.
·         Friday we will make our own chef hats.

Also we are planning activities where the Monitos can development they gross and fine motor, language and cognitive skills.

Holiday Party
We can hardly believe it’s time for us to start planning and organizing for our Holiday Party. Our Monitos will dance the song “Muñeco de Nieve”. We are very excited for this event, since it’s one of the biggest events we have during our school year. We count with your support! For that reason, you will receive a special letter from us with detail information of this event and what your child’s needs to wear for his/her presentation. We have time to prepare a wonderful show!

Theme of the week: “Mi comunidad y yo /My Community and I”
Dear Monitos Families,
We hope you had a great week. This week we will begin a new theme “My Community and I” (Mi comunidad y yo). This week we will doing different activities with your children. We’ll be talking about the fireman and police man also, we will have the police department and fire department visit on Thursday and Friday.
At home you can help us by showing them pictures of a fireman, police, doctor, teacher and mechanic.
