Theme of the Week: “People, music, and countries around the world”

 
Dear Monitos Parents!
We hope everyone had a great week.
This week our Monitos will learn more about Africa. We will learn about the culture and traditions of African People. Also we will do art and focusing in the animals that we can find in Africa. We will do a special activity on why and how to take care of water and how important nutrition is to our bodies.

It will be a very interesting and fun week!

Friendly Reminders:
● Please make sure keep extra clothes for you child in the cubbie. The weather is getting warm so feel free to bring sunscreen (ask Miss Cristina or Miss Giselle For the form). Please don’t leave the sunscreen in your child’s cubby.

● VERY IMPORTANT!

We are working very hard every day to teach our Monitos a properly hand washing. We need all Monitos parents cooperation in making sure to wash your child’s hand every morning before drop off. Food is not allowed inside our classroom unless it is for meal times. If your child need to eat their snack early in the morning, make sure to sit with your child until they have finished eating or you can drop the snack at the kitchen and our cook will bring it for their morning snack. Make sure to label it with you’re your child’s name and date.

● We provide water to all of our Monitos during the day. If you still would like to bring their sippy cup, make sure it has a top and your child’s name. Please take it home and bring it back next day.

Theme of the month/week ( tema del mes/ semana):”People around the world” (Europe)

 
Dear Monitos Parents,
We hope everyone had a great week! Thank you to all of you for your support in our International Festival. It was such a great event and our children did a WONDERFUL dance! We are very proud of our Monitos!

This week we will talk about some European traditions in the following countries: France, Italy and Spain. We will discover their food, music, and clothing. Our goal this week for our Monitos is to help them recognize the diversity of cultures in a fun way.

Special Activities:
Thursday: We will make a Spanish Castanet.
Wednesday: We will cook pizza.
Thursday: We will make Eiffel tower and we will prepare and play with cloud dough

Hello Monitos Parents,
I hope everyone had a great Easter Break! This week we are going to learn more about Asia continent! We are asking to all of our families, if you have family, or are from, Asia, please send pictures to share with the rest of the class. We are excited to learn more about your culture and traditions!

 CLOSED-TOE SHOE POLICY
Now that the weather is getting warmer, please make sure you know about our closed-toe shoe policy:
Shoes should be comfortable and provide adequate protection for the feet during outdoor play. Flip-flops and open-toed sandals are prohibited as they present a safety hazard. We request that every child come to school with closed-toe shoes.

Week of April 6th-10th

Week of April 6th- 10th
Theme of the week: “people around the world”
Highlights of week:
This week we will talk about different traditions in Colombia, Peru and Mexico like food, music, and clothes. Our goal for this week is to help our Monitos observe the different cultures and enjoy learning about theme. We will doing activities like dance traditional music, made it traditional clothes and made it a piñata .Also we will continue practicing for our performance, next Friday April 10th .
Friday in the morning we will do a small celebration rewarding the Monitos for the great job practicing every day for the International Party.

Important Upcoming Dates:
April 10th: We will have our International Party at the St Raphael Catholic Church The celebration begins at 4:15 pm. Sff!  Cary will open 7 am and close at 3:00 pm. Our children need to be dressed at the location at 4:00pm.  You will drop your child off with us and go to the celebration in the Gym. The Address is: St Raphael Catholic Church (St. Ignatius Hall) 5801 Falls of Neuse Road  Raleigh, NC 27609 This year the food policy has changed at the rental venue therefore, we will not be having our usual potluck dinner we can only serve shelf-stable foods .You are invited to bring a dessert / drink to share! Sign-up sheet will be available at the front desk. We are in need of volunteer parents for taking pictures and sharing them with us. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer. Hope to see you all there celebrating with our children the beauty of Diversity.
