Week of July 11th-15th

Classroom: Monitos
Blog Title: Little Gardeners
Week: July 11th thru July 15th, 2016
Weekly Featured Theme: Gardening & Nature

πŸ”  What are we learning?

Dear Monitos Parents,
This week we will learn to be little gardeners and we will discuss about nature, trees and plants. We will continue creating safe learning environments that offer the children the opportunity to explore and experiment with nature. We will be scheduling the following fun learning activities so children can enjoy contact with nature and continue strengthening motor, language and cognitive-sensory skills:

For motor skills: We will create art projects of diverse colors with play dough.
For language skills: We will read about fun adventure stories about camping.
For cognitive/sensorial skills: We will decorate and paint pots using different materials so children can feel different textures.

Thank you once again for all your support and for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life.
Best Regards,

Miss Cristina and Miss MarΓa

πŸ“„ Materials for Special Projects
Have your child wear swimsuit, splashers or swim diapers and water shoes for Splash Day. Bring a towel and a plastic bag for wet items. Pack all these items in a tote bag for your child. We recommend to label the bag, swimsuit, towel and shoes with your child’s name.

πŸ”† Friendly Reminders
Check your child’s cubby and make sure to bring extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather.
Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellant should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a ziploc bag. We will also appreciate if sunscreen is applied to the child in the morning before dropping him/her at the preschool.
Remove wet clothing from the cubby on Splash days.

πŸ“† Holidays & Upcoming Events
Camping Day on Wednesday, July 13th.
